A Bittersweet Weekend in Monaco for Envision Racing

Monaco. The ultimate stage for heroic comebacks and dramatic twists. Over the course of this weekend, Envision Racing experienced both in full measure.

On Saturday, Sébastien Buemi delivered one of his finest performances of the season. Hit with a three-place grid penalty after qualifying for impeding a rival, he lined up 18th on the narrow Monte Carlo streets. What followed was a masterclass in racecraft: precise Attack Mode management, well-timed Pit Boost activation and sharp opportunism at every incident. The Swiss driver carved his way methodically through the field to finish 5th. Teammate Joel Eriksson, making his Monaco debut, also rose to the occasion with a composed drive from 7th on the grid to 6th at the flag.

Sunday told a very different story. Both drivers struggled in qualifying and started on the back foot, but Buemi quickly rediscovered his hunting instincts, climbing into the top five after a perfectly timed Attack Mode. Then disaster struck: contact from behind caused a puncture and sent the Swiss driver to the back of the field. He crossed the line in 17th. Eriksson stepped up to salvage the team's points with a well-earned 8th place, powered by an aggressive late-race Attack Mode strategy.

Buemi remains 9th in the drivers' standings with 65 points. Envision Racing sits 6th in the teams' championship with 97. The series heads to Sanya in five weeks for Round 11.
