A TOYOTA GAZOO Racing driver since 2012, Sébastien Buemi is one of the key figures in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Over more than a decade with the team, he has become a cornerstone of Toyota’s Hypercar programme, known for his experience, consistency and teamwork at the highest level.
Driving the #8 GR010 HYBRID, Buemi shares the car with Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa. Together, they secured the World Championship title in 2022 and achieved victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a defining moment in Buemi’s already impressive career.
The 2025 season marks Buemi’s 13th consecutive year with Toyota in endurance racing. Competing across a global calendar of eight rounds, he is targeting a third WEC title and another win at Le Mans, the highlight of the season, scheduled for 14–15 June.
With over 80 WEC starts, Buemi is among the most experienced and successful drivers of the modern era. His strategic insight, racecraft in traffic, and ability to deliver under pressure make him an essential asset in TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s continued push for success.
Alongside his WEC commitments, Sébastien Buemi also competes in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with Envision Racing.
