Berlin: Buemi bounces back with a strong P4 finish
The Berlin double-header delivered a weekend of contrasts for Sébastien Buemi and Envision Racing, swinging from frustration on Saturday to a hard-earned charge back to the front on Sunday.
Returning to the track after a six-week break, the team arrived at Tempelhof in good spirits, backed by a solid start to the season and competitive pace in Free Practice. But Saturday's race quickly took a wrong turn. In qualifying, Buemi was hampered by tyres failing to reach their optimal window, which left him stuck in P19 on the grid. Despite a well-executed energy management strategy and a climb up to P12, rising battery temperatures cut his power in the closing laps. The Swiss driver crossed the line in 12th, just outside the points, while teammate Joel Eriksson finished 16th after an equally tough afternoon.
Sunday told a completely different story. Buemi narrowly missed the duels by just 0.08 of a second but lined up 14th with real intent. The race was a constant battle from lights to flag, and the Envision driver thrived in the chaos, briefly leading and shifting between P3 and P14 as Attack Mode activations reshuffled the order. His strategic patience paid off: with six minutes of boost held in reserve, he carved his way back up to a strong 4th place. Eriksson, fresh off his best ever Formula E qualifying, rounded out the team's effort with a P10 finish and a first championship point.
With 55 points to his name, Buemi sits 9th in the standings heading to Monaco in two weeks.
