Despite a determined effort, Sébastien Buemi and Envision Racing faced a challenging weekend in Jeddah, leaving Saudi Arabia without points but with valuable data to build on for future races.

The first race, which marked the debut of the new Pit Boost system, saw Buemi and teammate Robin Frijns starting from P17 and P19 after a difficult qualifying session. Both drivers made steady progress, utilizing Attack Mode and Pit Boost to climb the order. Buemi briefly reached P6 but ultimately finished P12, just outside the points.

In the second race, Buemi showed early promise, moving up from P18 before an unfortunate front wing issue forced an unscheduled pit stop. This left him at the back of the pack, where he focused on energy-saving strategies but finished in P19. Frijns led the race briefly thanks to a well-timed Attack Mode but faded to P14 due to energy limitations.
Reflecting on the weekend, Buemi acknowledged the team’s struggles with car reliability and unfortunate incidents but remains optimistic for improvement ahead of the next race in Miami.

“I think the race was coming together nicely in the early stages but the damage to the front wing meant I had to stop and that was it [for my chances]. We will look at all the data and try to come back stronger.” – Sébastien Buemi

With two months to analyze the data and refine their approach, Envision Racing is focused on bouncing back stronger in the upcoming rounds.
