Sébastien Buemi faces challenges at the Portland E-Prix
Sébastien Buemi, the Swiss driver of the Envision Racing team, had a weekend of contrasts at the two rounds of the Portland E-Prix on 30 and 31 June 2024. Despite intense efforts and a well-honed strategy, Buemi finished 20th and 9th respectively on Portland's technically demanding circuit.
In the first race, unforeseen circumstances and technical problems hampered Buemi's progress, relegating him to 20th place. "It was a difficult day," commented Buemi. "We encountered a number of technical challenges that cost us time and positions. Despite this, the team worked tirelessly to improve the car for the second race."
Buemi and the Envision Racing team showed remarkable resilience on June 31. With renewed determination and effective technical adjustments, Buemi managed to climb back up the standings, finishing a creditable ninth. "I'm happy with the second race because I was able to climb back up to 9th position. It's been a difficult season, but we're still very motivated for the final weekend in London, as we have a high-performance car."
Next up for Sébastien Buemi and the Envision Racing team is the final race weekend of Formula E season 10 in London.
