Sébastien Buemi Continues Legacy with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing for 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing has confirmed its established driver line-up for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), with Sébastien Buemi continuing his storied journey as part of the team.
As the team’s longest-serving driver, Buemi has been a cornerstone of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing since its first WEC race at Le Mans in 2012. Alongside teammates Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa, he has secured two World Championship titles and one Le Mans 24 Hours victory over the past three seasons in the #8 GR010 HYBRID. The trio will look to build on their success in 2025, striving for a third world title and another Le Mans triumph.
The 2025 WEC season promises another thrilling challenge, featuring eight races across the globe. It begins in Qatar on 28 February and culminates in Bahrain on 8 November, with the iconic 93rd Le Mans 24 Hours set for 14-15 June. The season will also see TOYOTA GAZOO Racing defend its manufacturers’ World Championship title and aim for a historic sixth consecutive victory at Le Mans.
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing enters the new season with a two-car team in the Hypercar category, fielding the GR010 HYBRID equipped with its advanced RACING HYBRID powertrain. The team’s unchanged driver line-up, which includes Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Nyck de Vries in the #7 car, underscores its commitment to consistency and excellence.
With its proven roster of world-class drivers and cutting-edge technology, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing is set to uphold its mission of creating ever-better motorsports-bred cars while enhancing the appeal and sustainability of motorsports worldwide.
“This team is a big part of my family. I grew up around Toyota because my family has had a Toyota dealership for over 50 years, and I remember having my photo taken next to the GT-One at the Geneva Motor Show when I was a child. It is amazing to be part of the team since the first season in 2012, having achieved a lot of good results in that time. Thank you to everyone at TOYOTA GAZOO Racing for giving me the opportunity to go for another win at Le Mans and the World Championship.” Sébastien Buemi
