From frustration to victory: a stunning turnaround for the Swiss driver
The very first double-header E-Prix held in the Principality will go down as a pivotal moment in Sébastien Buemi’s 2025 season. After a first race marred by misfortune, the Envision Racing driver bounced back in spectacular style, winning the second round on the streets of Monaco in light rain with a perfectly executed strategy. This 13th Formula E victory makes him the most successful driver in the history of the championship.

Race 1 – Incident beyond his control ends Buemi’s chances
The weekend started with promise for Buemi, who gained several positions early on thanks to an efficient first Attack Mode phase. But just past the halfway point, contact from behind caused a puncture and forced him to pit again. Despite a composed final stint, he crossed the line in P19, far from the result he had hoped for.

On the strategic side, Buemi completed his mandatory 30-second Pit Boost stop without issue, gaining an extra 10% of energy. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to recover from the earlier incident.

Race 2 – A tactical and technical masterclass
The following day, Buemi wrote a completely different story. After qualifying eighth in a tricky wet session, he started cautiously but steadily climbed the field lap by lap. With precise race reading and bold overtakes on Gunther, Rowland and De Vries, he took the lead and never looked back.

In tricky conditions and under pressure from behind, Buemi remained composed, pulling away to build a 4.3-second gap. He crossed the line to take his first win in six years, a victory that brought both relief and confirmation of his enduring talent.

“Winning here in Monaco after so long is just an incredible feeling. The whole team did an outstanding job in tough conditions. This win really means a lot.” – Sébastien Buemi

A comeback that reignites his season
This two-part weekend was proof that Buemi remains one of Formula E’s key players. His fighting spirit, strategic clarity and experience enabled Envision Racing to leave Monaco with a renewed sense of momentum. This win may well prove to be a turning point in the Swiss driver’s season as he continues to chase new heights in the GEN3 Evo era.

Next stop: Berlin, where Buemi will look to convert this momentum into more championship points.
