Envision Racing and Sébastien Buemi experienced a memorable start to the 2023–24 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Mexico City.

Sébastien showcased his skills during the initial qualifying round, engaging in a fierce competition with McLaren's Jake Hughes. Demonstrating his expertise, Buemi secured a spot in the semi-finals and ultimately claimed second place in the final, surpassing Hughes.

Throughout the race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Buemi skillfully maintained his second position behind pole sitter Wehrlein after navigating the opening right-hand turn. After some drama, the leading quartet strategically conserved energy and assessed each other's moves until the chequered flag waved.

Securing the second spot at the Mexico E-Prix signifies Sébastien Buemi's second podium for Envision Racing, his fourth in Mexico, and his best result with the team to date.

Looking ahead to the double-header Diriyah E-Prix in Saudi Arabia, Buemi is determined to build on this success and strengthen his position in the championship challenge.

"Qualifying played a crucial role as passing is challenging here. We had a clean race, and Pascal was quick. Aware of the difficulty, I opted not to push too hard and am content with P2. Attempting to overtake him would have been risky, so settling for second and the points was the strategic choice." Sébastien Buemi
