Madrid E-Prix: Buemi solid in the pack, P7 finish despite penalty
At the inaugural Madrid E-Prix, Sebastien Buemi delivered a strong and consistent performance to finish P7 after initially crossing the line in P6, before a post-race penalty dropped him one position.
Starting from 14th on the grid following a challenging wet qualifying session, Buemi made steady progress through the field with a well-managed race strategy. He capitalized on the Pit Boost phase and timed his Attack Mode effectively, allowing him to climb into the top positions and briefly run as high as P2 during the race.
In the closing stages, as competitors still had access to extra power, Buemi lost some ground but remained competitive in the fight for the top six. He ultimately held position on track in a tightly contested battle, demonstrating strong defensive driving before the stewards’ decision was applied after the race.
Despite the penalty, Buemi’s overall race confirmed his consistency and ability to score points across varying conditions, adding another solid result to his season ahead of the upcoming round in Berlin.
