Sébastien Buemi delivered a strong and determined performance at the Miami E Prix, the third round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Season 12. Forced to start from the back of the grid after a difficult qualifying session, the Swiss driver produced an impressive wet weather charge to finish seventh and secure valuable points for Envision Racing.

Held in tricky conditions at the Miami International Autodrome, the race proved a real test for both drivers and teams. Rain falling shortly before the start reshuffled strategies and placed even greater emphasis on technical and strategic decisions. In these treacherous conditions, Buemi once again demonstrated his experience and ability to master challenging situations.

The day had started poorly for the Swiss driver. Running in Group A during qualifying, he was hampered by traffic on his preparation laps, resulting in two penalties for impeding other competitors. These sanctions relegated him to the back of the grid, leaving him with a significant handicap going into the race.

At the start, which was delayed by several laps behind the Safety Car to assess track conditions, Buemi immediately adopted an attacking approach. Taking advantage of a strong launch and a smart reading of the race, he gained multiple positions in the opening laps. While the battle at the front remained relatively controlled, the Envision Racing driver continued to make steady progress, managing his energy and saving his Attack Mode activations.

In the second half of the race, Buemi fully capitalised on his strategy, deploying his remaining power boosts at the right moments to overtake several rivals and break into the top ten. He ultimately crossed the finish line in seventh place after starting twentieth, completing a comeback that was both effective and crucial for the championship.

On the other side of the garage, Joel Eriksson also impressed by securing the best result of his Formula E career with a fourth place finish, allowing Envision Racing to leave Miami with a double points result and a total of eighteen points scored.

This Florida weekend confirms the progress made by the team since the start of the season. Following the pole position achieved in Mexico City and the competitive race pace shown, Sébastien Buemi’s performance in Miami further boosts Envision Racing’s confidence ahead of the next challenge. The championship resumes in February with a night double header in Jeddah, where the team will aim to build on this positive momentum.
