Shanghai: Two Solid Races in Challenging Conditions

An intense weekend in Shanghai for Sébastien Buemi and Envision Racing, with two races marked by strategic comebacks, unpredictable weather, and excellent energy management.

In the first race (Round 10), Buemi started from the back of the grid after a tough qualifying session but climbed up to P9 thanks to a well-executed Attack Mode strategy and smart navigation through the chaos of the Pit Boost. Teammate Frijns followed closely behind in P10, securing a double top ten finish for the team in their “adopted” hometown, where Envision’s HQ is based.

The following day, heavy rain disrupted the entire schedule — practice was cancelled, qualifying was shortened, and the race began behind the Safety Car. Despite another challenging qualifying (P20 after an incident), Buemi was unable to repeat his Saturday performance and crossed the line in P18 after contact with another driver. Frijns, however, impressed again with a strong drive to P8.

Envision Racing leaves China with points from both races and a positive momentum heading into Jakarta in two weeks.
