A super-job !

I arrived quite confident at Punta del Este, as I won there in 2015. But I went off during the first practice, and I lost a lot of valuable time as the team had to repair the car. I was therefore not too confident before the start of the qualifying session. That said, I still managed to score the fastest lap. Then, for the Superpole, I locked up at the corner 7, and I found myself only 5th on the starting grid.

On my side of the grid, the track was better for the start, and I immediately passed Luca di Grassi. Then, I passed Loïc Duval, Sam Bird and Jerome d’Ambrosio successively, so I was leading before the car change.

That change went very well, I won the race, and we now lead both drivers and teams championships. I have to underline that the team made a super-job to repair the car after my morning’s accident. I also scored the fastest lap during the race. The good news is therefore that we have the speed.

It is a tough championship, as we face a fierce competition. We have to avoid any mistake. I hope that we’ll do just as well at Buenos Aires, on February 6.
